Playing Sound Through a Slide Show
To play a sound throughout your presentation (such as a song
saved on your computer):
- Insert
menu>Movies and Sounds>Sound from File.
- Locate
your file on your computer.
- Insert
the sound.
- Click
Ok to play automatically.
- Click
on the sound icon (speaker) to select it.
- Slide
Show menu>Custom Animation.
- Count
the number of slides you have.
- Click
on your sound in the list in the panel on the right and a menu will drop
down.
- Click on Effect Options.
- On the
Effects tab, click on After __ Slides and type in
the number of slides in your presentation. Then click Ok.
- Click
on the Slide Show menu and select Rehearse Timings.
- A
timer box with an arrow will appear in the upper left hand corner.
- Run
your slide show and click on the arrow on the timer box when you want
another event to occur (i.e., custom animations to occur, move to a new
slide, graphics to animate, etc.).
- When
you’ve gone through your entire slide show, click on the x on the timer
box to close it.
- To the
question “Do you want to keep the slide timings to use in the slide show?”
Click Yes.
- Now,
when you View Slide Show, it will all play on its own.
