Playing Sound Through a Slide Show

 

To play a sound throughout your presentation (such as a song saved on your computer):

  1. Insert menu>Movies and Sounds>Sound from File.
  2. Locate your file on your computer.
  3. Insert the sound.
  4. Click Ok to play automatically.
  5. Click on the sound icon (speaker) to select it.
  6. Slide Show menu>Custom Animation.
  7. Count the number of slides you have.
  8. Click on your sound in the list in the panel on the right and a menu will drop down.
  9.  Click on Effect Options.
  10. On the Effects tab, click on After __ Slides and type in the number of slides in your presentation.   Then click Ok.
  11. Click on the Slide Show menu and select Rehearse Timings.
  12. A timer box with an arrow will appear in the upper left hand corner.
  13. Run your slide show and click on the arrow on the timer box when you want another event to occur (i.e., custom animations to occur, move to a new slide, graphics to animate, etc.).
  14. When you’ve gone through your entire slide show, click on the x on the timer box to close it.
  15. To the question “Do you want to keep the slide timings to use in the slide show?” Click Yes.
  16. Now, when you View Slide Show, it will all play on its own.
