Dear Parents and Family Members:

Welcome to the 2011—2012 school year. I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer and that you and your children are ready to work with us to make this the best school year in your child’s educational career. You will be receiving separate letters from your child’s teachers regarding classroom procedures, requirements and supplies.

Attendance at school is very important for academic success. If your child is absent because of illness, please send a note of explanation the day your child returns to school.

The school day begins at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. I.S. 27 will have extended instruction for all students Monday through Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 2:37 ½ p.m. All students are dismissed at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. If your child is currently entitled to busing, he or she will receive busing after these sessions. Please have your child return the Registration Form to his/her Homeroom teacher so that we can reserve a seat for your child in this program.
